Matthias Mathieu — Managing Partner
Matthias is the initiator and founder of Bright Capital. In his responsibility as Managing Partner he is responsible for the investment activities at Bright Capital. He is also a member of the investment committee. Prior to his current role, Matthias served as Managing Director for a Switzerland-based Private Equity firm. Matthias has more than 10 years of operational management experience in the lower mid-market in Germany. Matthias is married and has five children.
Karsten Batran — Managing Partner
Karsten is a founder of Bright Capital and serves as Managing Partner. He is a member of the investment committee and serves as director and member of the board of Bright Capital Asset Management S.à r.l., Luxembourg. Karsten worked with Berenberg Bank, Sal. Oppenheim and Horváth & Partners Private Equity & Investors and in corporate positions at Apcoa Group and BSH Group. Karsten holds a CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst) from EACVA and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Erlangen. He is a passionate skier and mountaineer. Karsten is married and has one son.
Felix Förster — Investment Director
Felix is an Investment Director in the Frankfurt-based deal team and joined Bright Capital in 2018. He is responsible for origination and execution of new investment opportunities for Bright Capital’s credit strategies. Prior to joining Bright Capital Felix worked at HSBC in Frankfurt, London, and Dusseldorf where he focused on the structuring and execution of mid and large cap sponsor-backed LBO transactions across Germany and Austria. Felix holds a Master of Finance as well as Corporate Management and studied in Germany, the US and France.
