Bright Capital is looking to hire a (Senior) Associate investment professional for the Frankfurt office. The scope of the role is to provide support to the investment and portfolio team in the origination, underwriting and portfolio process, as well as certain investor reporting. As an Associate at Bright Capital, you will support senior management and take your own responsibility through the full lifecycle of an investment, from origination to execution as well as subsequent responsibilities over the active portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

• Assist in sourcing and originating investments from corporates, sponsors, and intermediaries (debt advisors, corporate finance boutiques, lawyers, etc.)
• Undertake an initial assessment of potential investment opportunities
• Preparation of credit committee papers and completion of credit due diligence (buy-side and independent DD, coordination of Q&A sessions with management/PE sponsor)
• Presentation of new investment opportunities to the investment committee
• Prepare financial models and scenario analyses
• Monitoring of portfolio investments

Your skills and experience

We are looking for an individual with excellent technical and modelling competencies, an entrepreneurial attitude, and great German market knowledge as well as language skills to join our investment team. Key skills and experience include:

• 3-5 years experience across leveraged finance, debt advisory, or other relevant PE or investment banking experience
• Strong credit experience/knowledge is required. Being able to build models (including DCF and LBO)
• Ability to work on multiple deals concurrently and quickly identify key issues and mitigants
• Highly commercial with strong business acumen is essential
• Good understanding of the DACH corporate/sponsor market, with a particular focus on the small to mid-cap space
• Solid exposure to legal documentation
• Entrepreneurial and self-starting attitude to match our dynamic culture
• Strong communication skills and fluency in German and English
